Still Here... But... Drained

In case you're wondering where I've been, my Dad is dying of Lewy Body Dementia. The same disease that took Robin Williams. It's progression has been blindingly fast, and in just the last 2 months he's gone from confused, but understandable, to a babbling stream of random words and crazy compulsions. Sometimes he knows who I am, and sometimes he doesn't.

He may die in a few months, but nobody really knows. The top probabilities (as related to me by his caretakers) seem to be starvation from him forgetting to eat (or unable to wake up during meals), and a serious fall that breaks something and starts a downward health spiral until an infection does the deed. Neither is all that much fun to think about.

In any case... Between his condition, the craziness of the not-quite-a-mental-ward facility he's in, and dealing with my Mom not wanting to believe that his mind isn't going to come back... Well, I haven't been much in the mood for sitting down and concentrating on writing wargame rules. The holidays and the kids' schedules don't make that any easier.

I'll get back to the project when I can, but I don't know when that will be. The will is there, but the energy is not.

Stay tuned.
