3D Printing: Building A Better Infantry Base
by
SandWyrm
Games Workshop bases. For better or worse, we're all used to them (or their many copy-cats). But while assembling my large order from Anvil Industries to make a copyright-legal army for WarStrike, I had to decide what kind of bases to use for the figures that didn't come with any.
And since I've got a nice 3D resin printer... Well, I think I've come up with something much better than the norm.

Table Setup & Mission Rules: Part 2
by
SandWyrm
Here's the next two pages of rules for setting up terrain prior to rolling a mission. This time covering Rivers & Roads, which are terribly under-used due to the problems that an inconsiderate placement can cause. These rules seek to lend some structure to their placement so as to avoid some of the more common problems.

Refining Visibility Some More
by
SandWyrm
Ok, so the new visibility system was all well and good... until I had to sit down and write clear rules for the terrain effects. Block city. If the rules are too weird/complex for me to easily figure out clear rules for, then it indicates a problem. So I'm taking the weirdness down a notch, and de-coupling the visibility of a target more from the terrain Evasion modifiers. In a hybrid of the old and new systems.

Concept: Terrain As A Part Of Your Task Force
by
SandWyrm
As I've been writing up the next mission concept, I found myself getting off on a tangent that I've decided requires it's own post. That being the idea of including terrain as part of a player's army. So that during deployment, you can put down some smaller, tactically important bits to modify the play field; instead of simply being at the mercy of whatever the table layout + mission does to you.
